Capesthorne aficionados noted with interest the 6th October 2007, which saw a very special charity event take place on the banks of Capesthorne Main Lake, effectively allowing night fishing on the water for the first time in the lakes well documented history.
The one-off event, organised by SOTAS proved an overwhelming success and the twenty-plus anglers who took part were well aware of the privileged situation they found themselves in. The event was hailed a huge success by all those taking part and a creditable £325 was raised for charity along the way.
The largest fish banked during the event fell to SOTAS regular Andy Freeman who banked a stunning 29lb 10oz specimen (pictured) along with another carp of 17lb, both of which fell to MB Baits New Enzyme
